![]() rpp I posted? It's almost like it's sending a data dump automatically, certainly nothing playable. Is all that data being transmitted as soon as you turn on the keyboard with the track armed? Does it get sent even if you use the. I use the VSTi version of RG under Windows, BTW. See if this plays back normally, and if not, what does the log report as incoming? rpp here with my RG folder setup and demo tracks. I would add the ReaControlMIDI FX to the track you're trying to record on, then check the "Log" box so you can see what CC messages are being received when you arm the track.Īctually, I'll just attach a small. (I'm assuming you don't have an envelope controlling it in REAPER.) The fact that you can't change it manually indicates that that message is being sent continuously. A level of -30db means that RG is receiving a CC7=0 from somewhere. The Volume in RealGuitar responds to CC7 messages. But recording is very difficult as the RG output level is so low, even if I bring the Reaper track volume fader to max.Īs a newbie I feel I'm missing something obvious here? Once I switch off Record Monitoring I can control the Output Volume within RG again. (I'm using an external keyboard to generate the chord progression.) It happens whenever I set Record Monitoring to ON or AUTO on the chord progression track. Or for just a quick test, press the Chords button on the RG GUI once playback starts.Įdit: Oops! I see I was late - got distracted in the middle of my reply!Īctually on further investigation it's not the creation of the child folders that is causing this problem. ![]() You can change that in the MIDI Editor Event List to a value that puts it in Chords mode (eg. mids have a CC=54 event at the start that puts it in the wrong Mode. mid files (1 for chords, 1 for strums, etc.) as the children, so the MIDI is sent automatically to the parent. I usually put RG in a Folder parent track, with the. I guess I am still at a loss to work out how one track is "applied" to another, in MIDI terms. Not knowing where to start doesn't help of course :=) I think there's something basically wrong with the routing/MIDI setup, but I can't figure out what. I either get plucked chords (Solo mode, patterns off) or the right strum rhythm, but all one one note (Chords mode, patterns off).Īlso, the Solo/Chords buttons seem to pop off and on on their own. Now, from here, no matter what I do, I cannot get BOTH the chords track playing WITH the right rhythm. This launches TWO RealGuitar windows (windows show "x86 bridged"). I go to "fx" and set up RealGuitar for each track. This is what I have done so far (something must be wrong here somewhere.): I have read through some of the manual, and especially the MIDI section, but I am at a bit of a loss here and have not so far had any support from RG2 on this (I am trying the demo currently).Īny input – even if it is a targeted RTFM – gratefully received! The "pattern" track is either silent/misconfigured or I am just too much of a newbie to know what is going on here.ĭoes anyone recognize something in this setup that is missing? Is it the MIDI channels that are misconfigured? An FX setting? A different aspect to do with MIDI? However, I only hear the chords track so far. I have brought a RealGuitar2 demo track into Reaper. This works (apparently) by importing the pattern into the sequencer and sending both this track and a chords track back through RealGuitar. RealGuitar2 can export MIDI patterns for use with its VST instrument. I'm rather a newbiw when it comes to sequencers (I own Notion3 but nothing more) and may be struggling with terminology rather than Reaper itself here.
